Enrolling for Closed Classes
Waiting lists are not maintained for closed classes. Students who are unable to enroll for a course that has closed prior to their registration appointment are encouraged to select an alternative course in the event space does not become available in their first choice of class. After completion of the registration process, the student may check back on-line to see if a seat may have become available due to a student withdrawal or due to a student being dropped for non-payment of fees.
If the class a student wants does not reopen before the semester begins, the student may “PETITION” the class by attending the first class meeting to see if any space is available as a result of student “no shows”. If the student is given permission to enter the class, the instructor will give the student a pink permit card with an Add Authorization Code. The student will then have the option to register and pay for the class on the MyGWC portal or register and pay in-person in the Admissions Office.
