Head coach Matt Wells begins his second year directing both the Men’s and Women’s soccer programs at Golden West College. Coach Wells and Coach Alex Gimenez will share the duties in leading both programs to playoff aspirations.

Coach Wells also coaches with Wolfpack Soccer Club and at Huntington Beach High School as the Girl’s Head Coach. Outside of soccer, Wells is a certified ski instructor, competes in triathlons, directed the California Junior Lifeguard Program for five years, and is an American Red Cross Certified Lifeguard Instructor. Coach Wells is supported by his wonderful wife, Brianne, and his son, Jonah Cristiano.

Coach Wells has created a very solid staff with Alex Gimenez serving as co-head coach, and bringing in Miguel Ruiz to help improve the Women’s team. Tony Medina will continue to train the goalkeepers.

The coaching staff really is excited about this group of players, and they are thrilled to see what the team might accomplish this season.

Alex graduated from Hope International and has gone onto obtain a second Bachelor's Degree and a Masters Degree. He teaches at his alma matter at Westminster HS where he has also coached the Varsity Boys team for the past seven years.
