The LRC building incorporates green design: LED motion-sensor lights; large skylights to allow daylight into the 3rd and 2nd floors; large north-facing windows for natural light and a view of the native garden; and smaller, metal-screened west-and-east-facing windows to filter sun. The functional design of this building organizes its resources into social, group and individual study areas and staff service areas, allowing for communication and quiet areas to coexist comfortably.
