Please join us on Friday April 17th for a day of peace building. Explore innovative ways to promote peace and nonviolence individually, locally, and globally. Hear from visionaries, peace builders, and change makers that are creating solutions through education, music, art and action.
Workshops to be taught by Peace Building Experts include:

* Selfless Giving in the 21st Century

* Literature as a Way of Communicating Peace
* Conflict Dissolution: Bringing Peace from the Inside Out
The objective of the Peace Conference is to promote peace and humanity by building bridges between today's reality and future possibilities. The event will include musical performances by artists exhibiting peace building through thought-provoking lyrics, art, music, and dance. There will be a special appearance by Dr. Joyce Bishop, recipient of GWC’s 2009 Peace Studies Award.
The annual Peace Conference is sponsored by Golden West College and its Peace Program, Student Activities, Peace, Mind, & Body Club, and Associated Students organizations. In addition, the event is collaboration with CSU Dominguez Hills, CSU Fullerton, UC Irvine, CSU Pomona, and the City of Huntington Beach.
The 2009 Peace Conference will be held at the Student Center at Golden West College in Huntington Beach. Advanced admission is free for GWC College Students ($10 at the door), faculty or Staff $10 ($15 at the door), and $25 for Visitors ($30 at the door). Admission includes breakfast and lunch, a conference packet, and free parking.

Children’s Book Drive!!!
The Peace Mind & Body Club will be holding a book drive for disadvantaged children.
The books donated during this drive will be sold for 25 cents each, per child. The proceeds will go to a local school.
The book drive will be held from February 23rd-April 10th.
