Welcome to the Social Sciences Division

The Social Sciences study the interplay between society and individuals. At GWC, these include nine disciplines:

  1. Anthropology, (study of workings of societies around the world and long-term development of the human organism),
  2. Archaeology (study of human activity in the past),
  3. Economics (study of factors influencing the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services),
  4. Geography (study of physical and human patterns in environments),
  5. History (study of the past as it relates to humans),
  6. Political Science (study of governments, political activity, and political behavior),
  7. Philosophy (study of general and fundamental problems),
  8. Psychology (study of mind and behavior),
  9. Sociology (study of behavior as it relates to development, organization, and institutions).

You should know that graduating with a Social Science degree can be the best long-term option for you.  “At peak earnings ages (56-60 years) workers who majored as undergraduates in the humanities or social sciences earn annually on average about $2000 more than those who majored as undergraduates in professional or pre-professional fields.” (Read more at https://www.aacu.org/press/press-releases/new-report-documents-liberal-arts-disciplines-prepare-graduates-long-term)
