Language Arts Complex - Measure M:
Construction activity continues on the interior with ceilings, flooring, doors and hardware, and interior storefront framing. Exterior finishing continues with metal panel installation. Site work continues with preparation for placing concrete and excess soil off hauling. To accommodate site work, construction fences have been extended on the north-west side at the GenEd bldg, preventing passage from the LRC through Gen Ed to the Bookstore (the entrances to the LRC are unaffected), and on the south side blocking the pathway between the Math & Science bldg and the Business bldg/Forum 1. Adjacent sidewalks and pathways to the south may be used to navigate around this obstacle. Please use the Campus pedestrian entrances to the north between Auto Tech and the Native Garden, and to the south between Math & Science and Public Safety to access the campus from the west parking lots off of Goldenwest St; allow extra time to reach your destination. There will be increased construction traffic due to site work activity; use caution around trucks entering and exiting through Parking lot C. Portions of Parking Lot C remain barricaded for construction traffic; there is no parking within the barricades. Please watch for and obey the flagmen in this area. Roads and walkways within fenced off construction areas are not accessible to pedestrian traffic; please use alternate routes to get around Campus. Exercise caution around construction vehicles and areas surrounding the construction site. Noise level will be low to medium for these activities. Site Restoration Project - Campus:
Restoration of the demolition site from the old KOCE building is in progress. The site, which is located on the east side of campus between the Amphitheater and Fine Arts, north of Forum 2, will remain fenced off with no public access within the fence. (See attached map [PDF] for work area)
Technology Bldg. Painting:
Painting of the Technology building began Saturday and will continue this week. Please use caution and avoid this area when painters are present. Noise level will be low for these activities. (See attached map [PDF] for work area)
Old Softball/Utility Field Removal:
Removal of the stadium lights, backstop fencing, benches, and clay from the old softball/utility field at the corner of McFadden and Gothard on the northeast end of campus will commence this week. The area will be restored with new soil, irrigation and sod. Please avoid this area and watch for contractors entering and exiting the site. Noise level will be low to medium for these activities. Campus Wi-Fi Project - District:
Wireless Access Points are being upgraded throughout campus. Work continues with installation of outdoor Access Points around campus and conduits in Track & Field and Softball. Contractors will delineate work areas. Please use caution around construction vehicles and equipment, and avoid those areas.
