Language Arts Complex - Measure M:
The new Language Arts Complex building is nearing completion and is open for classes. Site work landscapingcontinues. Watch for large equipment moving around the landscaping areas, and please mind the caution tape. Noise level will be low for these activities. (See attached map [PDF] for work areas)
GenEd Bldg Demo Project - Campus and Measure M:
Hard demolition of the General Education building on campus has commenced. Demolition of the building and surrounding area are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2023, and new landscaping in place before the end of the spring 2024 semester. Construction vehicle activity will impact the parking lot near Auto Tech and the Native Garden, and the access road north of the site. Extra care should be taken along the access road. There is no pedestrian access within the construction fence. Noise level will be moderate to high for these activities. (See attached map [PDF] for work area and construction vehicle routes)
Restroom Remodel Project - Campus:
Older restrooms throughout campus are being renovated. Currently, the restrooms at the Technology bldg. are closed. The nearest available restrooms are at the Student Union and RecEd buildings. Noise level will be low for these activities. (See attached map [PDF] for work area)
Site Restoration Project - Campus:
Restoration of the old KOCE building demolition site located on the east side of campus between the Amphitheater and Fine Arts continues with installation of plants, and application of hydroseed for new grass. The berm has been removed between the amphitheater and the site, creating an open, accessible area. New lighting has been installed for increased visibility. Contractors with trucks and equipment will be entering and exiting the site from the east parking lots off of Gothard St. via the access roads north and south of the Amphitheater. Please use caution in and around these areas. The site remains fenced off with no public access within the fence. Noise level will be low for these activities. Painting at Auto Tech - Campus:
Painting of the Auto Tech bay doors continues this week. Watch for increased work vehicle traffic in Parking Lot A near Auto Tech. (See attached map [PDF] for work area)
Tree Trimming - Campus:
Tree trimming crews will be on campus and in the parking lots this week. Please watch for their vehicles, stay clear of equipment, and mind the caution tape. Noise level will be medium for these activities.
