Immigration regulations require international students in F-1 status to enroll, complete and earn a letter grade in a minimum of 12 units for the spring and fall semesters.

Immigration regulations also limit the number of online courses a student can count towards the 12-unit full-time requirement. Only one course no more than three units of online/distant learning coursework counts towards the full-time requirement each semester.

Requirements for F1 students:

  • Register, complete and earn letter grades in a minimum of 12 units every Fall and Spring semesters
  • Majority of classes must be in a 16 weeks format
  • A minimum of 9 units with on-ground physical presence is required
  • Only 1 class no more than 3 units of online/distant learning coursework will count toward the full time enrollment 
  • Majority of classes must be at GWC campus
