Golden West College has installed new Farmer’s Fridge vending machines to supplement on-campus food services, giving students and employees an opportunity to enjoy fresh, fast food options on the go.
Farmer’s Fridge provides meals using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Each meal—primarily salads, bowls and wraps, as well as healthy snacks — is packaged in recyclable and reusable containers. The vending machines have touchscreen menus and customers can order and pay for meals at the machine or on the Farmer's Fridge app.
“It’s important to have fresh, healthy food choices for our students,” says Vice President of Student Services Claudia Lee. “These fridges are strategically placed in the buildings on campus with evening classes, such as the Math and Science Building and the new Language Arts Building (coming soon), as well as high traffic areas, such as the Learning Resources Center and the Student Services Center.”
GWC’s Farmer’s Fridge machines are restocked weekly and meals range in price from $6.50 to $11.50.
