The Social Work and Human Services Associate of Arts for Transfer is designed for students seeking to enter helping professions, local county and state agencies, non-profit organizations, and private providers of service. This program is appropriate for individuals seeking entry-level positions as behavior management aides, child advocates, child care workers, and group counselors. The degree is also a pathway to four-year university bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, or a related field. The program allows for students to gain foundational theoretical knowledge and practical experience to prepare for advanced study in fields that serve the general population in social welfare settings. Students completing this degree will be well prepared for entry level positions in social welfare, behavioral therapy, and social work, and advanced training and education in social work, counseling, therapy, or work within related medical personnel fields.
